I was 38 my first time, but I had a type of cancer (lymphoma) that, to that point at least, was generally only found in children or the elderly. Now it’s a lot more common in folks in their thirties and forties and there is not a doubt in my mind that’s due entirely to environmental factors.

Mentioned it once or twice but Amelia Earhart grew up in Atchison, Kansas just a short hop across town from my great-grandfather’s house, where my grandmother and her siblings grew up. Sadly G-G’pa was a victim of the Great Influenza. Earhart’s family were wealthy, of course, so different circles.
