Strangely yesterday evening I had an unprompted flashback to the time our CEO vetoed a candidate for a midlevel accounting manager position despite she passed several rounds of interviews, all because she graduated from SF State. Later hired someone with similar years of experience and UCLA degree.

That is not how "law" works. A thing is lawful or not; "voters" come into the picture elsewhere, by voting for people to change the law. And this extra-judicial "voters" argument fails on its own logic: what power do voters have over a second-term President? Or have we just abandoned that law too?
