Tony Clark, in all likelihood, torpedoed the MLBPA's chances during the next CBA negotiations and all but ensured a 2027 lockout because he just couldn't not sleep with his sister-in-law.

This is pure unadulterated dooming fantasy. From a manpower and tactical perspective this just cannot meaningfully impact congressional races. Maybe maybe maybe you pick one senate seat and swing it half a point if you absolutely nail it. Plenty of chances for fuckery but this is basically nonsense

This is the worst thing happening in baseball. It is happening all the time and nearly every team is doing it. And a lot of prospect media is complicit.

whatever happened here is catastrophic. the league was already going to go for the PA's throat in CBA negotiations this winter and now the longtime head of the union is ousted during spring training in a scandal. huge win for the commissioner.

The example here is a good one (with real stakes) but the same is true about mundane stuff too. Maybe (I guess) 10-20% of my customers have come from people who have read arguments that I've had with other people. The arguers themselves, not so much.

AOCโs biggest problem if she runs for president is that the white men who control our media ecosystem will not so much put a finger on the scale to stop her as an entire hand it can be done (see: Zohran) but itโs going to be blatant and itโs going to be infuriating

As much as I miss NBC's NHL production, these Olympics are reminding me why what I mostly miss is having a PxP voice that actually cares about their job (Doc Emerick). Both tournaments treat their audiences like children and/or don't care about doing actual in-game analysis.

Listening to Kenny Albert for both the Men's and Women's tournaments makes me really miss Doc Emerick. This also applies to listening to Kenny Albert during Rangers games making me miss Sam Rosen. In summary, Kenny Albert is a nepo baby is not good at his job.

NHL Trade Deadline Primer: I think one of the biggest flaws of the Chris Drury era for NYR is everything has seemed more reactive than thought out. No plan. Just vibes. That won't work with a re-tool/rebuild. So why should the Rangers trust him to oversee this?

NHL Trade Deadline Primer: Why should the Rangers trust Chris Drury to oversee this re-tool?
His tenure with the Rangers has been defined by reactive moves with no real vision or plan. That is not great for a team that now needs a long-term plan and vision.

Biden was the most economically progressive president since LBJ at least, he pursued a full-employment economy at huge political risk, it worked spectacularly. And what happened is that the entire progressive universe decided that he must not have done any of it, or else he would have been popular
