🚨BREAKING: After pressure from the courts + @housedemocrats.bsky.social Democrats, the Trump Admin has agreed to tap the contingency funds (as they are LEGALLY required to) to make partial SNAP payments. It’s not full relief yet, but it means families should soon see benefits start to flow.

Republicans are ripping away ACA premium tax credits, causing healthcare costs to soar by 35% in Texas on average. Just look the premium rates for 2026 compared to last year. Many families won’t be able to afford it! Republicans need to reopen the government and work with Democrats to lower costs.

Two federal judges just confirmed what’s obvious in law and decency: the Trump Administration must fund SNAP during the shutdown. Their attempt to hold 42 million Americans’ meals hostage for political leverage was unlawful, immoral, and disgraceful.

The Trump Administration refuses to use contingency funds to keep SNAP running after November 1st. 25 state attorneys general sued to compel USDA to do so. I joined @repvindman.bsky.social and Democratic members of the Virginia delegation to urge Virginia’s AG to do the same.
