After threatening war crimes against the Iranian people, the President of the United States now threatens “a whole civilization” with death. Speaker Johnson must call the House back to end Trump’s war of choice and take back the reins from an Administration with no strategy beyond more bloodshed.

Since its founding through the North Atlantic Treaty 77 years ago today, NATO has been a lynchpin to security and maintaining stability across Europe and North America. Since his return to office, President Trump has threatened to abandon NATO and put decades of diplomatic progress at risk.

One year ago, Trump announced his “Liberation Day” tariffs, throwing our economy into chaos with sweeping taxes on everything from technology to toys, groceries and more. Since then, I’ve heard stories across Virginia about the uncertainty Trump’s illegal tariffs have caused.

Jeannette Rankin took her oath of office to serve as the first Congresswoman of the United States 109 years ago today. Her courage as a historymaker has paved the way for me and so many other women of Congress to fight for a future that allows our daughters and their daughters to dream bigger.

Republicans pushed through nearly $200 billion to fund ICE and Border Patrol in the Big Ugly Law. Yet their dysfunction has kept TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard and cybersecurity professionals unpaid. Speaker Johnson should call the House back to approve DHS funding we should have approved last week.
