Every time the GOP has brought anti-LGBTQI+ bills & amendments for a vote this year, we've always had more members on the House floor speaking out in opposition than the GOP has had speaking in support. Our members will not stand by silently when our community is under attack.

OTD in 2010, President @barackobama.bsky.social signed the #DontAskDontTellRepealAct, protecting the right of openly-LGB troops to serve. This milestone is worth celebrating, but we cannot fully celebrate until Trump's trans military ban is overturned & ALL servicemembers are protected.

One of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s last Congressional actions is to attack trans kids. That’s shameful. Her bill would throw doctors and parents in prison for providing evidence-based care to trans kids. I trust parents and doctors to do what is right for their kids. I voted NO on HR3492.

Instead of working to lower premiums and health care costs, Republicans are more worried about throwing parents and doctors of transgender youth in jail. No parent should fear prosecution for trying to get their kid the care they need.

I was a kid once. And my biggest regret in life is that I never got a childhood without pain. Politicians should never insert themselves into the personal health care decisions of patients, parents, and their providers—and that includes trans Americans.

For more than 20 years, the US has led the international HIV response. But the complete dismantling of USAID and global health funding will lead to millions of additional infections and has already led to hundreds of thousands of deaths.

When Republicans threatened to take fundamental rights from LGBTQ+ couples, I fought to protect same sex marriage in our country. Three years ago, we signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law. Since then, this law has given families like mine the respect, protection and rights they deserve.

Three years ago, the Respect for Marriage Act was signed, guaranteeing every married couple dignity and equality under the law. Individual freedom to be who you are, love who you want, and control your own body is a cornerstone of our democracy.

The Respect for Marriage Act affirmed a simple truth: love deserves respect and families deserve protection.   As we mark three years since Democrats enacted it, we deepen our resolve to push back on forces of discrimination and advance equal justice for every American.

It's been 3 years since the #RespectForMarriageAct became law. Our members were instrumental in getting this bill to the President’s desk, but we know the work isn't done yet. There's more we need to do to fully protect LGBTQI+ people, including by passing the #EqualityAct next!

Republicans have created a healthcare crisis and now want to put doctors in prison. This is an attack ALL Americans should be against to save healthcare for millions of people.

Rep. MTG just announced that her bill to JAIL parents & doctors who help young trans people access care will be brought up for a vote next week—instead of anything meaningful to avert the healthcare crisis the GOP created. We're going to do everything we can to defeat this bill.

The NDAA should invest in our military, not target minority communities for exclusion. While we're grateful that most anti-LGBTQI+ provisions were removed, the GOP kept one anti-trans provision in the final bill—and that's one too many. We're committed to repealing it.

On #HumanRightsDay, we reaffirm that every person is born with equal rights. This year, @markey.senate.gov and I reintroduced the International Human Rights Defense Act to protect marriage equality. LGBTQ+ people everywhere deserve safety, dignity, and the freedom to love without fear.

77 years ago today, Eleanor Roosevelt led passage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Last month, Trump deleted human rights from the U.S. National Security Strategy. Our leaders ought to care about moral principles & human rights—not just their own money and power.

Under Trump, the US is refusing to address the discrimination & criminalization LGBTQI+ people face globally—even removing this info from the annual Human Rights Reports. We're going to keep fighting against their anti-LGBTQI+ domestic & foreign affairs policies. #HumanRightsDay
