Ten years ago today, Philando Castile was pulled over by police outside of St. Paul, Minnesota. Philando was a licensed gun owner who made clear that he was exercising his right to carry. The officer responded by shooting him in seconds. He was only 32 years old.

A 3-year-old boy shot and wounded himself after finding a loaded gun inside his caretaker’s vehicle. An infant was also inside the car. Every month, at least two children in the US access a loaded gun in a car and unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else.

ASTOUNDING: According to an analysis published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, each year, 20,000 children and adolescents across the US have a parent taken by gun violence. Our children are being traumatized by a crisis that is largely preventable.
