The GOP government funding bill would hike health care premiums for 240,000 New Yorkers by an average of 75%, effectively pricing them out of coverage.   That is unacceptable. I stood with my Democratic colleagues to oppose this Republican plan that puts billionaires over New York working families.

It was a privilege to meet with Ashley Spivey today to discuss the SHINE for Autumn Act, a critical step toward preventing stillbirths.   This bill strengthens research, data, and education to prevent stillbirths and support families who experience these devastating losses. We must get it passed.

Kash Patel says he can’t release the FBI’s Epstein Files because of a “court order.” But in the court’s recent order denying release of grand jury material, the judge explicitly wrote that FBI’s investigative materials can be released. Donald Trump is in the files and Patel is covering up for him.

Gun violence simply cannot be the way we resolve disputes. As in this case, innocent bystanders often get hurt. My team and I are in close contact with the NYPD 7th Precinct as the investigation continues. No New Yorker should walk around their own neighborhood in fear of gunfire.

24 years later, “Never Forget” must mean action. Tens of thousands of 9/11 survivors and first responders live with cancers and illnesses from toxic air they were told was safe. Congress must permanently fund the World Trade Center Health Program. We cannot let them down.

This afternoon at the 9/11 Memorial Glade, I stood alongside fellow New Yorkers and paid solemn tribute to those taken from us 24 years ago.  We remember the lives lost, honor those who answered the call, and recommit to telling their stories for generations to come.  We will never forget.

24 years ago, our city and our nation were forever changed. Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken, honor the bravery of the first responders who ran towards danger, and stand with the survivors and families who continue to bear the health and emotional toll of that day. Never forget.

I am horrified and outraged by the shooting of Charlie Kirk today in Utah. In our democracy, violence is never an acceptable way to resolve political differences. My thoughts are with Mr. Kirk and his loved ones, and I expect the perpetrator to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I toured P.S./M.S. 34 in the LES — a model for how to turn around underperforming schools. I was grateful to learn from the Superintendent, principal, and teachers about the consequences of Trump’s cuts and the school’s needs. I’m determined to make sure everyone can get high-quality education.

On the morning of a holiday weekend, Trump launched an effort to deport hundreds of unaccompanied children to Guatemala without due process. This kind of lawless enforcement flies in the face of our laws. The courts must safeguard the basic rights of these vulnerable children.

Nearly 500k union employees observed Labor Day with fewer workplace protections than last year because of Trump. From cancelling collective bargaining agreements to gutting NLRB, his assault on workers' rights has been all-encompassing. Every union member must take note: Trump is coming for you.

Trump and his DHS masked militia deported a 6-year-old NYC student, locking her in a detention prison, then sending her to Ecuador. DHS is snatching children, disappearing them, and dumping them in countries they barely remember. This is horrific, un-American, and utterly abhorrent.

There have been over 500 credible reports of abuse in ICE detention centers since January, including sexual assault, miscarriages, and child neglect. This is why we demand oversight of DHS—and why Rs are doing everything they can to block us from exposing the horrors inside these facilities.
