Government should work for the people, and when it doesn’t, my office steps in to help cut through the red tape. This year, my office helped hundreds of constituents navigate federal agencies & successfully returned over $10 million back to the people of CA-49.

The presidential pardon system is broken. Right now, there are no meaningful checks on the President’s pardon power. That makes it ripe for abuse, and it’s a threat to the rule of law. That’s why I support a constitutional amendment to put commonsense limits in place.

Delivering for our district means turning federal dollars into real results. This year, I secured over $71 million in federal funding for local projects and priorities in cities throughout CA-49, and more than $77 million for Camp Pendleton.

Every day in 2025, I heard from hundreds of constituents in #CA49 — sharing their stories, asking for help with a federal agency, and making their opinions heard here in Congress. This year, my office responded to 82,884 emails and answered 7,216 calls.

Families are paying more for electricity, and Washington Republicans are choosing to make it worse.

This isn’t complicated. The Epstein Transparency Act is the law. You can’t have selective transparency. The DOJ is openly breaking the law, and they will be held accountable. No agency is above the law, and this failure will not go unanswered.

Today is the deadline for Trump’s DOJ to release ALL of the Epstein files and comply with federal law. The law is clear. The Trump Administration had 30 days to release them. Now, they are saying they won’t meet that deadline.

Trump’s proposed offshore drilling plans would irreparably harm our tourism economy, coastal ecology, and our community. My constituents don’t want oil rigs on their beaches, and I’m doing everything I can to stop that from happening.

I am glad to see our service members getting more money in their pockets. Our troops and their families deserve real support, especially as housing costs and cost-of-living pressures have outpaced military allowances in recent years.

Trump’s economic approval rating is lower than it’s ever been, and the reasons couldn't be clearer. Families across the country are struggling to keep up with skyrocketing electric bills, climbing health care costs, and groceries that just keep getting more expensive.

Our veterans shouldn’t have to fight for health care at home. Yet 267,000 veterans and their families could lose health care this month if ACA tax credits expire, and Washington Republicans are refusing to even vote on extending them.

We are days away from the expiration of the ACA tax credits, and Washington Republicans still have no plan to stop this looming disaster.

The Trump Administration promised a “Golden Age” for the economy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Unemployment is at its highest level in more than 4 years — levels we haven’t seen since the pandemic.
