I was hoping to make it back to Milwaukee for this #NoKingsDay, but Republican chaos kept us here so late last night that I’m walking from the Capitol Building to go join protesters on the national mall and give Donald Trump a piece of my mind on behalf of Wisconsin’s Fourth Congressional District.

I’m in D.C. and ready to vote right now to fund TSA, FEMA, Secret Service and the Coast Guard. I don’t care if it’s a weekend or if House Republicans have spring break plans. The Senate did their job, and it’s time for the House to do ours.

There are not harsh enough terms I can use to condemn the Trump administration’s kidnapping of children and their treatment in ICE custody. The Republican Party is supporting inflicting long-term trauma on innocent children.

Donald Trump was handed an economy with cool inflation, steady job creation and wage growth. He came in and drove it to the ground with tariffs, tax giveaways to billionaires, a new foreign war. The American people are struggling and it’s entirely self-inflicted by the GOP.

Trump killed bipartisan talks and instructed his Republican lackeys in Congress to keep our airports chaotic and dysfunctional. We could fund TSA today but Donald Trump chooses to play political games.

Donald Trump campaigned on affordability, then got into office and called it a hoax. Since then all he’s accomplished is slashing health care to pay for tax breaks to billionaires, dragging us into trade wars, and now, dragging us into a real war. Working families deserve better.

And Mexico is going to pay for the border wall.

My heart breaks for the students, faculty, and families impacted by today’s shooting at Old Dominion University. Violence has no place on our campuses. We must stand together against hate and terror and keep the victims and the entire community in our thoughts.

No money to help keep vulnerable children and families fed, but plenty of money for a cable TV host to turn the Pentagon into his own personal party pad.

Speaker Johnson could call the House back and vote to fund TSA today. Let’s be clear: long lines at the airports are a direct result of Republicans insisting ICE be able to defy court orders, kidnap and murder people and face zero consequences.

Donald Trump is threatening to not sign any legislation unless Congress passes Jim Crow 2.0, or as Republicans are calling it, the “SAVE Act.” Let me be clear: this is so he can disenfranchise millions of voters and steal the midterm elections.

After hearing from Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth and other administration officials at a congressional briefing on Iran, I have more questions than answers. Why is this Administration committing U.S service members to a war with no clear end goals?

The Milwaukee Job Corps remains operational, doing awesome work serving young people in our communities. I enjoyed meeting with their representatives and hearing about the great training programs they offer.

The rhetoric and completely disjointed statements coming out of the GOP tells me everything I need to know about Trump’s reckless war in Iran. Lindsay Graham: “Not POTUS’s job to have a plan” Ted Cruz: “No indication Iran was close to having nuclear weapons”

Actually, it is quite literally the job of the Commander in Chief to have a plan. And Republicans in Congress are too weak and spineless to stand up to him and defend their constitutional role, which is endangering our men and women in uniform.

I’m praying for the service members, their families and loved ones who lost their lives yesterday. I’m ready right now to vote on a War Powers Resolution. Speaker Johnson should bring it to the floor immediately.
