The best Captain America comics are a commentary on the US, including this, an issue of Daredevil (#283) by Ann Nocenti and Mark Bagley. It's shameful that this particular one is still just as timely as it was 35 and a half years ago.

The entire superhero genre came into being because two Jewish boys invented Superman to be the hero who would punch Nazis and save people from horrific wars. And here we are, generations later, and monsters continue to provoke devastating wars to show how powerful they are.

Media figures don’t want to believe that MAGA is based primarily on selfishness and hatred for everyone else, so they have a need to codify that hate into defined policy positions that MAGA neither has nor deserves.

Everybody is really upset and feels powerless and when that happens, you tend to lash out at the people that are within arm's reach. Everybody should probably just chill out and give everybody and themselves a little grace, but, well, that's hard to do when you feel really sad and powerless.
