Not sure how anyone could watch this week's #StarfleetAcademy and say it's not Trek. That had all the elements of an old-school Trek, just in a more vernacular tone. Another fantastic episode. This show is rapidly becoming my favourite of the newer Treks. 🖖

I know the show won't be for everyone - and if you dislike it for actually valid reasons, that's cool - but I really needed some fun and uplifting Trek in this current hellscape. SNW S3 didn't really land well for me but Academy and Lower Decks are exactly what I need right now. 👌

Starfleet Academy continues to be a lot of fun, different from all previous Trek and yet incredibly true to Trek's core values. I hope this will stick around for a while.

Never understood the whole concept of nostalgia as being "hyped for a live-action remake of a mediocre cartoon I casually watched as a 6-year-old." I can feel nostalgic for that period of my life but I can't see why I'd even want to hate-watch some low-effort nostalgia bait for middle-aged dudes.

Rewatching FOR ALL MANKIND and the character work in this series is incredible. Everyone is so flawed in interesting ways. Aleida is both ruthlessly driven and a quitter, Ed acts principled but frequently lacks actual character, Margo destroys her own life through repeated acts of supposed goodwill
