Crow 2: City of Angels. The whiplash alone between the original and the sequel left me cussing as we left the theater. I never walk out on movies, but I don't remember if I made it to the credits or not.

FedEx got my package to within 2 hrs of me, then somehow, sent it over 900 miles and 14 hrs away. It literally had to drive/fly past me to get there from its previous location. No wonder Tom Hanks ended up on that island.

A friend shared this video for Black History Month and I wanted to highlight it here so others could watch it too. An incredible panel of artists discussing sci‑fi, representation, fandom, joy, allyship, and the future of storytelling. A great conversation worth listening to and celebrating.

My question here is how big Empire made the galaxy feel. I don't know how much control Johnson had, but it was always my thought that JJ kind of decided the Resistance was pretty small to start with. The First Order, in TLJ, was out to snuff the last light in the galaxy, after all.

Sad to report that visual effects artist Chris Stoski has passed away. Chris was the ILM digital matte supervisor for "Star Trek" (2009), and was responsible for this amazing painting of the Enterprise under construction.

So when are we getting The Book of Boba Fett on physical media.

DID YOU KNOW: Grogu (approx 53 years old) is older than Pedro Pascal (50) and his character Din (40s?). That's right, this is the Star Wars equivalent of casting 28 year olds to play high schoolers.

Me: This is like a season 4 trailer, not a cinematic movie trailer. Also Me: YET I NEED A BREAKDOWN OF EVERYTHING I'M SEEING.

There was a lot of fun things happening in the Mando and Grogu trailer. What did not happen was a clear sense of what the film is about other than Mando and Grogu going after bounties and apparently pissing off the Hutts. If anything, this is a perfect Season 4 trailer.

We showed this to my kid this morning. By the time he was done watching it (for a second time), he was smiling, calling back, and then clapped his hands after it concluded.

[stares at his hearing aids lying on the desk] No, audiologist I spoke to an hour ago, I don't take them out anymore. Pretty use to them, in fact. [ears cackle]

I’m one of the folks shifting to buying movies in 4K, but as I have done so, I really have started to appreciate how good some blu-ray scans can be, especially with minor upscaling. The result is my Blu-ray collection increasing at a faster rate than the 4K.

The first time I heard "Make Me Feel" a penguin was singing it...and now I can never not see a penguin seeing it. I'm not always on top of the freshest pop music, a'ight.

Me, reading Andy Weir book: The way the character effortlessly draws on all this science knowledge is insane. [a moment later] Me: Wait, is this how people see me when I used to recall inane Star Wars trivia.

Until my re-read of Prince Caspian with my kiddo, I had completely forgotten it and Two Towers both end with a killer forest and a river that gets unchained.

I understand less than a lick of Spanish, but this was extremely clear to anyone with a pulse and two open eyeballs.
