The Neopets team posted an update just after midnight terminating all licensing agreements with Geekify, directing backers of the TTRPG to Geekify for refunds, and leaving the door open to someone else making them a licensed TTRPG someday. bsky.app/profile/neop...

John Taylor of Geekify claimed he was "blindsided" by this decision and locked most of the backer Discord server within the hour. He was telling backers as recently as three days ago that work was continuing and that there was over 1,000 pages of material TNT and backers hadn't seen.

Just to nail down a timeline for anyone curious:

maybe the funniest thing about the Neopets TTRPG debacle is that i can think of at least twelve designers off the top of my head who could have a playable draft of an incredible Neopets TTRPG done by next month
