🧵The dead can't tell their stories, so we must do it for them. No case below led to the birth of an infant surviving longer than 3 days (most didn't end in a live birth at all). Savita Halappanavar, died at 31 from sepsis after being denied an abortion. Her case led to Ireland legalising abortion.

It's very tempting to ask "why is nobody covering something worse than Section 28? Surely by now everybody knows how bad S28 was?". But you have to remember, at the time the media had no issue with S28. The BBC even helped cover up its immorality. There's no evidence to suggest anything's changed.

very weird seeing some women speculate that at the heart of misogyny is some kind of latent homosexuality. i'm sorry but like you have to come to terms with the fact that some categorically hetero men truly emphatically subscribe to the idea that violence against women is the natural order of things

"I'd kill for my child" okay but would you put aside your preconceived notions of gender or sexuality for your child? would you apologize to your child when you're wrong? would you tell your child they can be whoever they want to be, and mean it? your child doesn't need more killing in their name

There is a absolute push in the press to reframe ADHD and Autism as mild or overdiagnosised as the government want to cut support. Thats it, they are trying to soften up the narrative to pay for defence bill. That's why its everywhere. Zero to do with actual need or medical evidence.

American individualism is a disease in and of itself. Giving the BOTD to a corporation with DOCUMENTED instances of listeria, e. Coli, etc. in favor of claiming some people are just WEAK? It’s the same with COVID, measles, cancer even. People assume disability or illness is a personal failing.

Consensus in the Autistic community is that functioning labels are harmful because your support needs fluctuate throughout your life. And if given a wrong label, you might either not have some important needs met or be belittled and have your agency taken away.

Of all the bad takes the exist in the world, "women never commit medical misogyny" is one of the most astounding. Those of us who've been violated and had our lives destroyed by female medics now also have to worry about being openly laughed at by alleged feminists who think women can't do that
