I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Every time they say “we can’t afford that,” remember: they could afford armored tanks, a dictators birthday parade, and enough tear gas to choke a city. They just don’t want you fed, safe, or alive.

California National Guard troops have arrived at the federal detention center in downtown Los Angeles. This is pure theater. It will never stop Angelenos from protesting ICE kidnappings occurring throughout the vast, 4,000-square mile area of Greater Los Angeles.

Just a reminder, it's only peaceful for as long as the police allow it to be. It is always the police who decide if a protest is going to be violent.

I know there was a lot going on in American politics today, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight how much I admire the work that Greta Thunberg and the Freedom Flotilla are doing. They're sailing an aid ship across the Mediterranean to Gaza right now, despite lacking Israeli permission.

There's nothing to do but make jokes. What else is there to say, other than: To EVERYONE in charge, EVERYONE in a position of power, EVERYONE with money, EVERYONE with influence: you are failing us, completely. We are terrorized, we are stressed, we are homeless, we are dying. You are failing us.

Do we all still ultimately pay for their hubris and greed? Yes. Is the condemned man allowed to chortle when the approaching executioner slips on a banana peel? Also yes.

I know there’s a lot more important stuff to devote mental real estate to these days… but right now, I’m also wondering how —since original IP is still king— we can get a remake or stage adaptation of There’s No Business Like Show Business (1946) going.

Anything they want, hide it or mislabel it. Anything they plug in, unplug it. Remove light bulbs. Move cubicles around so they hide some of the doors and when they leave the room move them again so they hide different doors. Play really loud music. Think like a cat and sabo tabby yourself a mess

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it. “When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.” AOC 🔥🎯

SHARE WIDELY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one. (1/3)

'Survivor's guilt' is real right now in L.A.
Smoke and ash are in the air, and so is survivor's guilt, leaving many unsure how to act or grieve. While survivor's guilt can cause grief and shame, it is also, say experts, a sign of empathy.

There is a persistent myth that if you work in entertainment - if you've done something people have absolutely heard of or enjoyed - that you must be rich. Actors, writers, producers: rich. The sad truth is most of Hollywood is working class. So when you see a Go Fund Me, there's a reason it exists

Absolutely wild what some Republican officials feel comfortable saying about California while the LA fires are still burning. If Adam Schiff talked like this about Texas in the middle of a major disaster, he would be rightfully hounded into giving a groveling apology.
