I’ve watched 11 Kurosawa films over 11 days, several of them first time watches including Ran which I watched today. Ran is also the first Kurosawa film I’ve seen in colour and it felt a bit like seeing a film in colour for the first time ever. Excellent film and the colour POPs!

The older I get, the more I believe this. If everyone had the mental & physical space to pursue their joy (whether that be tinkering with herbs to find cures for ailments or building Lego sets), it would be much easier to embrace love instead of chasing survival. More communal, more respectful.
