40 years since the debut of Amazing Stories, huh? I was REALLY looking forward to this when I was a kid, so it was a bummer when it turned out to be just a toothless knockoff of The Twilight Zone. Still, super cool opening intro, and of course, John Williams is doing most of the heavy lifting.

Honestly, they really couldn’t do a worse job than they did with the first one (between the movie mostly taking place outside of Springfield AND the movie hinging on a bazillionth Marge-has-doubts-about-her-marriage-to-Homer subplot), so I’d look forward to seeing a second attempt.

Every time I see this I’m surprised at how shaky the show was (literally, in the case of that inexplicably-handheld shot of Picard cutting through Main Engineering) and how it’s drenched in “got canceled 6 episodes in” energy, and I’m warmed by the memory of how confidently TNG ended 7 years later

Rewatching act 2 of Wicked via a Youtube slime tutorial (I feel like I'm having a stroke typing this sentence), I forgot how little actual story is in that act - it's mostly just putting the characters in their places for The Wizard of Oz to happen and then the magic trick ending.
