I wonder sometimes if Max Headroom, one of the first cyberpunk fiction to really hit the mainstream, did us a disservice in showing people who gave a fuck.

The hack of the AI influencers puts me in mind of how genuinely optimistic cyberpunk was. Even when it posited a tremendously dark world, it presumed people WANTED something better, and would not tolerate the worst, most inhumane activities. If only we knew.

The animal rescue I volunteer with put up a Little Free Pet Food Pantry outside our adoption center. As fast as folks in need are emptying it, more people from the community are filling it back up again. There are still good folks in the world, helping those who need it. 🥰❤️
