Apart from the fact the leader of the right mocked Reiner, one small difference is that Reiner's day job was making movies that people loved, while Kirk's starting point was creating enemies list of professors to be fired or harassed. These are not the same things.

"ICE and CBP must be abolished" is the only reasonable position. We can debate the specifics of new agencies for immigration functions, but these agencies are simply too infected with a culture of impunity, racism, and fascism to continue. They're gangs with badges.

I can understand, even if I disagree, why French wants to try and empathize with the concerns of these RW culture war types. But that empathy is just reinforcing their whiny, spoiled attitude when what they need to be told is to grow the fuck up, those arenāt real problems.

I promise if youāre not Jewish and donāt know any Jews quite well you really do not understand the level of justified paranoia baked into most public Jewish gatherings: Security at swimming lessons at the JCC, off duty police outside a bar mitzvah as a favour, etc. It shocked me.

the myth of the adoptee as vengeful destroyer has real consequences. one of the commonest arguments against letting adopted people view their own vital records is that, equipped with this knowledge, they are liable to appear on their birth parentsā doorsteps and set about destroying their lives.

This is wildly anti-Semitic. Itās also wildly anti-Semitic to not think violence against Jews is impossible and that it has to be a false flag. Being wildly anti-Semitic while denying anti-semitism - what will they come up with next?
