Every now and then I remember the press reaction to Elon Musk claiming we live in a simulation was broadly “Real Life Tony Stark Elon Musk Posits Mind-Blowing Thought Experiment 🤯” instead of “This Billionaire Nutjob Doesn’t Think Other People Are Real”

Great kicker. Marc Benioff’s PR team wanted him to do an interview about philanthropy. Instead he sounded off on a bunch of Trump policies he supports and called for the White House to send troops to SF. Doesn’t seem like the comms team was pleased with how the interview went..

I was just thinking about this Trying to send in outside troops against a state's wishes is ofc a significant escalation and meaningful line crossed, but civil war isn't two armies meeting up on a grassy battlefield anymore--what does civil war look like in 2025? Is this already what it looks like?

I spoke to a Venezuelan woman who was arrested in this raid and later released with her 4yo son. She said agents broke down their door, pointed guns at them and made sexualized remarks about Venezuelan women. When she returned to her apartment it was boarded up and all her possessions were gone.

There are a whole lot of media and television executives currently operating with conviction that the potential consequences of the present will outweigh the accountability of the future. And no matter what happens, they cannot be allowed to be correct.

What I love most about the insincere religiosity of the right these days is how they keep making it crystal clear they don't actually read the Bible. There were twelve *apostles* and, even then, there was one (Matthias) who replaced Judas and was known as the 13th apostle. Otherwise, great work.

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer. The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial. Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.

And that’s how every reporter feels Charlie Kirk was the most important person in the world.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Charlie Kirk’s ultimate goal, which he said time and time again, would have been the suppression, through threat of violence and the use of state power, of the rights of those he disagreed with, including freedom of expression.
