Two officers who defended the Capitol against the Jan 6 rioters just sued to block Trump's $1.8 billion slush fund. Check out their standing argument, it's pretty interesting:

Lots of tech companies are releasing surveillance specs & I’m reminded of the internal Meta memo to put facial rec in their glasses during a “dynamic political environment” because people will be too focused on other issues to resist. Companies think now is the right time to foist these on us all.

My wife and I own a local newspaper, and we’ve seen a substantial uptick in local businesses buying ads. We think Meta’s enshittification is having a real effect. As they squeeze their services for ad dollars and fill their feeds with slop, they drive small businesses back to local news.

Renewables are unstoppable. BNEF's New Energy Outlook for this year says solar is set to be the biggest source of electricity in 2032 and wind will be second biggest in 2034. Both coal and gas displaced from those thrones. This is the business-as-usual scenario. 🎁🔗

I would like Democrats to come out and say that anyone receiving assets from this new slush fund, or profiting any of the other corrupt acts from this candidate, will have 100% of their assets seized the first chance we get. Even if they get pardoned.

The “we don’t have the votes” excuse for refusing to force a vote on impeachment is conceding the point and saying even the opposition party doesn’t think this high crime merits removal from office. It’s not being politically astute and pragmatic, it’s self-defeating in its cowardice.

After Plessy v Ferguson it was 58 years before we got a court willing to overturn it. I don’t think Black people who want to vote and women who want to have rights to their bodies and trans people who want to EXIST should have to wait that long because it offends your sense of propriety.
