Judge Ray is pretty conservative; he was elected as a Republican to the Georgia State Senate before being appointed a state trial court judge. For him to be this worked up about the subpoena is striking.

It needs to be made more forcefully that every US citizen is a birthright citizen. They are saying that US law devalues citizenship and that they hate that law because it confers citizenship on those that they despise.

The other day the Washington Post editorial board criticized the Supreme Court for not issuing a narrower ruling on birthright citizenship. This is why you don't issue a narrow ruling, this is why institutions need to explicitly defend the constitution.
