One cognitive structure that Trump and MAGA have built is the idea that if a lot of people are yelling at you, its because you are right and brave, and they are woke and intolerant. This helps to resolve the cognitive dissonance of abandoning your principles for obviously self-interested reasons.

It's not even a manifesto! It's basically a suicide note for the people he knows will be hurt and confused by the death he assumed he'd face. Manifestos are "this is what's wrong with society/why I'm angry, this is my philosophy, this is what needs done, and this is why others should follow me!"

Unfortunately a bunch of Dems are going to make a lot of noise about toning down the rhetoric when they should be holding up a mirror to Republicans and reminding them of who is actually generating the violent rhetoric.
