What non-superhero fans don't understand about my love for superhero comics is that they are weird and they used to be even weirder. I don't like MCU so much. I like that comic runs used to go on for like 100 issues and the whole time I'd be like, what the Hell am I reading???

My first ever comic featured the Hulk, on a trip through subatomic worlds, landing on a world where WWII was being re-fought by soldiers who turn out to be giant salamanders that had been transformed by the Shaper of Worlds. He fights Captain Axis, and it ends on a cliffhanger.

This is why it’s useless for weirdos like us to talk about the best comic to give to someone first. The best comic to give someone first is whatever random Bronze Age issue from the middle of a lengthy run you can find in a quarter bin.
