i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.

Really hard to say what the worst part of this NEA grant termination letter is (sent at 10pm on a Friday!) but I think it's finding out the federal government's priority for arts funds is now "fostering AI competency" rather than funding literature.

Fact is, bustin' DOESN'T make me feel good. Ghosts are sad confused creatures, cruelly tied to this plane by a powerful nexus of pain and fury. It gives me no pleasure to hunt them, shoot them with beams, and trap them in a box. I hope they find some peace in there. But TBH, no one really knows.
