For the last few months of 2025 I was averaging 10k words a month. That's not bad considering I was working half the time.

I had an idea for a first person story and for the life on me I can't remember what it was. 🤷‍♂️

We need to stop giving these things names. It humanises them too much.

Something I learned early on, you can write to market all you want, but it takes so long to publish a book that by the time it comes out the market will have moved on.

Trying to come up with names for the Colon/Nobbs of my world (army privates) but it's tough. So far I've got Mutt and Bailey/Bingley, Bedford and Batley, or Shoe and something. Or I might flip the Pratchett names and go Colin Fredericks and Norman Noble.

You can see some of these stereotypes - the simple, morally pure countryside vs. the morally compromised, inauthentic city - play out in Greek and Roman literature. So this is a very old idea that recurs regularly.
