If you want to understand open adoption, it makes sense to start with birth parents—yet studies of them are few. 2+ yrs ago, I began talking w/ birth mothers to try to understand what living in an open adoption is like for them, and what rights or options they might have if challenges were to arise.

Trans people are worth protecting. Not because we are amazing people (although we are) or because we offer a great deal to society (although we do) or because we are fine as hell (we are). We are worth protecting because we are HUMAN BEINGS, and it’s amazing how often that simple fact is forgotten.

Imagine having a store people felt so comfortable going into that they gave it a cute nickname, and then throwing that away for the sake of a political group that doesn't even shop there, fucking up so badly that a lot of the former shoppers realized they didn't need to buy so much stuff anyway.

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors. Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts. Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

Trans women athletes test at lower levels of testosterone than cis women have in their drug tests. If that's your only argument, I think you just need to say out loud that transgender people make you uncomfortable and then go and work on that.
