I wish people cared about the first amendment rights of authors and artists who are getting their works banned in schools and libraries across the USA as much as they care about the rights of white male comedians to be on national TV

is what a 22-year-old thinks about sex scenes the canary? idk. probably it's fine. it's rare i enjoy a sex scene in movies NOW because largely they suck, which is i think the real takeaway there. but i think it's disingenuous to pretend that people are not anxious about this for very good reasons

adults largely DON'T care what young people think about sex scenes. what adults care about (especially queer ones, and creators) is puritanism increasingly seeping into our culture in ways that impact us all very negatively and people's concern about this does not make them creepy!! sigh

calling autism a ātragedyā and saying that there should be fewer autistic people are eugenicist talking points. Everyone who opposes such views also needs to recognize the ways in which everyday ableism left the door wide open for a person like RFK Jr.

the most important thing to remember when you see eugenicists who donāt believe that autistic people should exist rambling about āthe autism epidemicā is not that theyāre wrong about the ācauseā (although they are absolutely wrong about it); itās that they are eugenicists

Steve Silberman is so pissed about this Tylenol bullshit that he's screaming from the afterlife he didn't even believe in. Increased rates of autism are due to testing, a broadened definition, and greater awareness. It's not vaccines. It's not Tylenol. It's like his work never happened.

I feel like part of the problem is that in the modern era, especially in the United States, people think that in order to count, they have to post about their activism or what they're doing. But here's the thing: you don't. 99% of what I do is stuff I never mention on social media.

Pam Bondi deleted a government study showing that right-wingers commit more terrorism. The right cannot think coherently so instead of making their own studies, they censor legitimate ones. But don't worry Pam, I saved it for you

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class. This is Kirk's legacy. You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.

An antisemite shot two kids in Colorado, at least one of whom is Jewish. The White House āfighting antisemitismā doesnāt care, because the shooter was a student radicalized online into far right beliefs, which the regime is cool with, rather than a student verbally criticizing Israeli govt policy.
