1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics. It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT. It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse. Transgender care saves lives.

Waited all day to read this and it was even better than promised. And comments that anti-trans panics -- and moral panics in general -- are a way to avoid dealing with the far more endemic sexual abuse of girls and women are spot-on.

I still don't understand how a piece of legislation that allows exclusion if a service wanted on a case by case basis has become forced exclusion whether or not the service wants to, or be sued by anti trans fanatics

We tried to place this story - very expensive polling, the first of its kind, strong quantitative data about what trans people feel about Britain: bluntly there is no better way to tell the story - with the BBC but it said it was "too weak". For the record my trauma was not because I am trans, all this was because I was not allowed support of self expression because I wanted to be seen as a girl. Everyone else around me got to experiment and be encouraged but I wasn't allowed. Being trans is not traumatic, not getting support is.

I would be happy if I never heard the name Graham Linehan again, but I do feel the need to comment, because the nature of a lot of the abuse trans people receive is straight up sexual harassment, but is not recognized as such because the victim is trans. What Glinner is doing is sexual harassment.
