I'll admit that when AI art tools were coming out I gave them a try and then rapidly went "this is ass and takes a lot of work to make usable, I'll just use actual assets people made" and then when ethics and artist rights came into play it was even easier to say "fuck this entirely"

it's basically the number one rule to any medium ; you can't just tunnel-vision and pigeon hold yourself into a corner. that niche may feel comfortable but it's stifling and prevents you from seeing "the bigger picture" in any sort of artistic/cultural context

There are a lot of reasons I don't like genAI (environmental and ethical reasons especially) but I also don't trust any computer program that is fundamentally nondeterministic. A program that does not give a consistent output for the same input is not a program I can ever trust.

Just know that if I see you using this shit (and I do), I'm judging you. It's not harmless or inconsequential. It's very, very easy to not use genAI for anything. You're making a very public choice.
