Resident Evil 3 remake is a step down from the excellent 2 and it's all down to small details in the tone, memo copy, dialogue writing and cinematic direction. It teaches you a lot if you're sensitive to these things how fine an art is to make a cohesive thing and how easy it is to fuck it up.

oh my god Cyberia 2 has a puzzle where you have to look over while a guard punches is a four digit code and then you have to enter the digits just by memorizing the sound the different buttons made. One of the most hateful things I've seen in an old adventure game and that's saying something lol

Love of pixel art involves parsing clusters of pixels sometimes at such low resolutions where one has to fight with abstraction to wrestle away meaning. In no other digital medium does one have to engage in so much dialogue with detail. What could be in that bush? Is that a cave? What is inside it?
