The US is the system, not the populace. Saying that Americans did this or that isn't the US doing it. The US is the government (Fed and State), the army, the police, the laws and policies and procedures. The US is a white supremacist oligarchy. This cannot be changed and retain the US.

Flying a US flag isn't being pro-democracy. Quoting the Constitution/Founders isn't being pro-democracy. Loving America isn't being pro-democracy. Saying "No Kings" isn't being pro-democracy. Acknowledging and addressing the ways US electoral politics aren't representative is the bare minimum.
