Iāve seen Baltimore experience four homicides in a day - even the span of a few hours - countless times. April just saw 4 homicides for the entire month, a single-month, all-time low for the records we have going back to 1970.

Brutal heat & drought here in the Shenandoah Blue Ridge. This is the most extreme spring I have experienced as a gardener. Weāve had to hold off transplanting in fear of plant killing temps. Getting to that time of the year when night herons return to their nests in Fells Point in Baltimore. This year, volunteers are planting a variety of bushes, small trees, and plants to cushion the fall when heron babies fall out of the nest. A great project.

Back at the beginning of this program I was a volunteer docent for the hapless helpless adorable little plovers for a couple years. It seemed like maybe nothing could be done but we would at least try. And look it more or less worked! Sandoval did it and is doing it still!

We are planning the Chinquapin Run Trail, a proposed 1.8-mile trail through Chinquapin Run Park that will connect to the Baltimore Greenway Trails Network. The trail is designed to support walking, biking, skating, and running, safely separated from traffic.
