i went to a city council hearing in Columbus, OH, today about green building practices. reading/seeing this and comparing the two makes me want to cry.

one of the things i think i was most impressed by traveling last month - was the number of EU cities that are pretty dramatically greening and providing new open space and a high quality public realm for residents. basically no US cities are doing this - even while adding new residents. maddening
