This REALLY struck me from yesterday's oral arguments. It's cliche that the Trump Administration is terminally online, but the Solicitor General arguing that the President's personal social media platform constitutes a forum sufficient to satisfy due process rights is an unimaginable sea change.

i honestly don’t care what the polls say, if you’re still falling for the dems’ whole “we would love to oppose trump/the right and fight culture war stuff but it’s just not popular, we simply must follow the polls this time” song and dance, you’re a mark, sorry.

The Virginia legislature today passed four constitutional amendments, all by day 3 of 2026 session: —protect abortion rights —repeal the same-sex marriage ban —allow mid-decade redistricting —greatly expand voting rights restoration. These will all go to 2026 referendums.

Also, not a con law guy, but don’t think the idea is that the 4th Amendment aims to PROTECT arrest powers but to LIMIT them. They are trying to invert a Constitutional that focused on negative liberties (“state can’t do x”) to constrain the state into one of positive liberties FOR the state.

100%. For example, the bathroom bills, where even if you think it's morally wrong for a penis to exist in a women's space, it takes about five seconds to realize enforcement involves grotesque privacy invasions on random people. Being pro-grotesque privacy invasions is bad outside of trans issues!

Watched BWC footage today from a rural Virginia county. An ambulance pulls up and for some reason it has the goathead Sabres logo on it? Even weirder? I'm wearing the same logo on my sweater today. I called my coworker to come see because I needed somebody else to experience it.

This is one of my fave stories. The traitor's battle flag was captured by the First Minnesota Infantry at Gettysburg. 3/4 of the regiment died that day. Va has repeatedly requested its return. MN gov Jesse Ventura notoriously responded, “Why? I mean, we won. We took it, that makes it our heritage.”

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said. That is called murder when they do that. Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

it is true that it *should not* matter that the murder victim was a white, middle-class, U.S. citizen mother, but it is also true that it *does* matter and that the story reaches people who might not otherwise be reached as a result.

you don't need to add caveats agreeing that the head of state abducted is a bad guy before opposing abduction of a head of state by military force. If the rule was any head of government is fair game then the entire world would be a series of decapitation strikes and show trials in foreign courts.
