I listen to, and enjoy, Goalhanger podcasts but I get an ick when the show notes only have links for subscription or to advertisers. I haven't recently seen any links to guests' work (unless they're promoting something) or reading lists etc. Most other pods I listen to are wonderfully collaborative

I love my job supporting vulnerable people to get welfare advice. If anything were to drive me away, it's the intractability of DWP. Hours of time unproductively on hold while I shuffle from dept to dept only to be given no or partial answers. My jaw is rigid with tension, and it's only 9.30 😡

Just done my tax return 🤓 Every year I am amazed at how brilliant the gov.uk website is. Intuitive and straightforward. I never wonder why the systems designed to help us pay money to govt are straightforward, while those designed to allow us access to financial help from govt are so opaque 😮‍💨

Listening to R4 Today and Peter Lampl's idea that more post-18s study at home. Living rurally, I notice children leave for uni and not return. Returners mostly work in schools or health. Conversely, area populated by old ppl who can't get care and have no local family. No opinion, just observation
