Good HE is really simple: quality time spent with subject experts who know and care about their students. My university and many others are deliberately abandoning this truth in favour of financial and organisational efficiency.

Thinking about money. UK tuition for home students is £9,535 (appx. $12,700). University of Colorado in-state tuition depends on credit hours. 12 credits in the arts for 2 semesters is $13,566, the same in business is $19,638 (yes they are charged differently). At UMich in-state tuition is $18,346.
