I think today is a great day to mention that the only things stopping the UK parliament from abolishing elections are: 1. Parliament Act 1911 2. ECHR and HRA 1998. 3. The House of Lords who can delay legislation a few times. 4. The Monarchy who can theoretically refuse royal assent.

We can build power outside of these institutions through our relationships with other struggles and that is in fact how we have been building our power. Through culture. Through art. Through shared struggle. Through human connections that can't be lied about.
