I listened to the first 3 episodes of BBC's "Anatomy of a Cancellation," and I don't know how the interviewer didn't laugh at Kate Clanchy when she said that "slanty eyes" wasn't in her book, it was "slantED, sparking, black eyes," so that was okay. The podcast completely vindicates the criticisms.

The BBC are dragging up the whole Kate Clanchy affair, four years later, with a SIX part podcast. There is no public interest reason for this, and they are just going to retraumatise the victims: the people who criticised Clanchy. One of them has already started receiving hate mail again.

I'll call it here and now - those in the IPAS centre will face more "serious consequences" than those who attacked it. The recent rhetoric of O'Callaghan, Harris et al has paved the way for this attack, but no-one in media or politics will call them out.

You don't get to erode trust in science and medicine, refuse to listen to experts in the field and trans people ourselves (which as the sole stakeholders in our own healthcare, you should), and not expect that you've opened the door to the likes of RFK Jr and other cranks and crackpots.

This is entirely true on so many levels I don't think I could possibly detail it exhaustively, but you really can't oppose trans people's human rights and still have freedom of expression and bodily autonomy, the idea that people are entitled to self determination goes right out the window....

Graham Linehan getting more and more irate about JK Rowling not supporting or mentioning him has made the news in the UK. It's the definition of cishet, male "gender critical" privilege, to have your whining about a "gender critical" woman not "supporting" you reported as news.

The Polari Prize is fundamentally damaged, because Paul Burston, the founder of the prize, is a "gender critical" movement supporter. No trans person can accept or take part in this award as long as Paul - or anyone with so-called "gender critical beliefs" - remains a part of it in any capacity.
