If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately. He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go. Literally resign tonight.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

There is no positive benefit to the best growth of sports gambling. But there are nearly infinite downsides. Like, whatever your opinion of government regulation is, sports gambling has to fit within the world of acceptable subjects of regulation.
