Not dunking on OP I want to say that having fun and being safe very much can and do co-exist! The early days of the pandemic were mired with unknowns and lies. But we know now what we can do make life safer and more accessible. Advocate clean air, clean your own air, and mask!

My edgy Covid take is that not seeing people in person was hard, but not as hard as realizing how many people were willing to sacrifice those weaker than them so that they could get back to seeing people in person. I’m still not over that realization. I still don’t know what to do with it.

At the beginning of the pandemic some disabled people felt hope. We saw inclusion and accessibility improve overnight. We saw accommodations put in place that we had spent years begging for. We saw the world adapt. That hope was ripped away during the rush back to normal. It still hurts.

When I ask people to mask it’s not out of a virtuous superiority or even an ethical code. It is because I am in the depths of this hellhole, and I am *screaming* at you not to come down here, and definitely not to shove anyone else in.
