In fact the majority of those with long covid only had a seemingly mild infection but you can still get long Covid from even an asymptomatic infection. Risk is also cumulative, the research shows this.

The messaging should be: Layered mitigations Think Post Infection risk Instead of: Handwashing only for a predominantly airborne virus. Each strain should not be thought of as mild, thatās a symptom, thatās not the same as the outcome. Think Hepatitis C, infections can be asymptomatic but

The mask guidance was always wrong and thatās why people thing surgical masks donāt work. Itās because FRSM (surgical) have gaps are are for droplet surface transmission but itās airborne and so we need ffp2/3 that seal to the face and have no gaps.

There are a huge choice of respirators around. Not all look medical and some are reusable and washable. Or consider wearing a cover over one that is decorative or fun. Plenty on Etsy. Head straps are far more comfortable than ear loops and seal better. Ladies, you can hide them with your hair also.

Rethink masking, wear a respirator for the whole family, the latest strain is more immune evasive. Ffp2/3 Itās easy, it will protect you from chronic health problems. Still get vaccinated if you can, any protection is better than no protection. Clean the air Open windows
