I’m terribly bad at remembering I have an account here.
My house is filled with teenagers, and one of them just said to my son, “if we need to film a cottagecore video, we’re using your house”. This is a compliment, I believe!?

I don’t need to read the Epstein book to know that a whole bunch of famous people who have spent years claiming to have hardly known the guy, in fact, have documented evidence of going to his sex crimes island to do sex crimes and then write funny little notes to him about it afterwards.

We are deeply concerned about the other accelerationist neo-Nazis in the NZ Defence Force and the lack of political will to remove them. We know of at least four Action Zealandia members who have served or are currently serving in the defence forces.

The espionage soldier was a founding member of Action Zealandia, and set up their chat groups and recruited for them. He also made fawning posts about the Chch shooter. He was arrested before his planned to trip to Russia, following in the shooter's footsteps.

Yesterday, New Zealand Police revealed they didn't start investigating the espionage soldier until after March 15. Several anti-fascist researchers reported his online activity to the New Zealand Defence Force prior to the Christchurch massacre. 🧵

Watch out for - and call out - these talking points becoming the story as opposed to the debate focusing on the NZ Government weighing up its position on the recognition of Palestine as a state. It’s the same deliberate, clickbait nonsense that always happens when women speak up. Change the story.

It’s so wild how this offshoot of ‘feminism’ has gone full circle into ‘a woman is defined by whether she has baby-making ingredients’ and if those bits don’t work, they’ll happily use the term ‘faulty’.

This is doubly stupid (and factually wrong) because the gender equity issue isn't confined to a single gender, no matter how you define it. It's about industries that are predominantly staffed by women (however they define themselves). Cis men in nursing are also included in the claim.

Just now, RNZ reporter Ruth Hill referred to nurses winning a “sex based” pay equity claim against the government, when it’s referred to as “gender equity” everywhere except for in deeply transphobic circles. I’m unsure why today’s strike was viewed as an appropriate place to make that statement.

There are a dozen amendments proposed by the FSU. I studied them in order to understand FSU's designs on InternetNZ through institutional capture, & hollowing it out. Each amendment is, in my reading, worse than the one before it.

The InternetNZ AGM falls on Thursday. It's a very consequential one. To secure institution's ability to serve all New Zealanders, members must vote down proposed changes to InternetNZ's constitution by the Free Speech Union (FSU) - published on their website. If passed, InternetNZ won't be the same.

To have age verification is to accept platforms cannot change. It's not forcing accountability at all. It's accepting they have the power to continue to do nothing about the harms that exist on their services, that children will inevitably encounter when they turn 17.

The reliance on boxing as the example - presumably amplified by the gross gender speculation of the recent olympics - is really frustrating. In lots of sports the community level is gender-mixed and this is not an issue.

The guidance for trans participation that they have removed from the Sport New Zealand website is just three years old and was the result of a lengthy cross-code consultation. This move makes sport more unfair and more unsafe. Every person involved in this is a hateful mess. Wish them the worst.
