In case you're wondering, my recipe for a Good Bluesky Experience here at the three year mark: 1. Decide not to be a dick 2. "Don't engage, just block" for trolls/bots/chuds 3. Mute stressful nouns 4. Follow super cool people of all sorts 5. Choose to have fun over "engagement" 6. Pictures of cats!

One party makes things worse, the other stabilizes and normalizes what the first party did until the first one gets back into power and make things worse again. And if you ask for anything better you're told you are just making it easier for the make-it-worse party to make things worse.

Call me totally naive, but I can't help feel that if Labor decided to cancel the submarine deal, tax gas exports, and use the windfall to fund social programs and y'know, make things better for the average punter, it might go a long way towards blunting the rise of opportunistic "populism".
