Scrolling through an old school annual found scanned on the web to find out what model of computer we used (it was a PDP11/24), passing by the middle pages and "oh yeah, that's the year the school play did blackface."

Tangentially reminded of trying to get a clear answer on how long a product I was working on would continue to be supported, because the value of anything we might add to it was directly proportional to the remaining time it would be used.

I think the time to learn Trump so often steals objects from his wife's bedroom that staff have to take photos of everything she owns to replace them before she finds out & also check the president of the United States' bedroom trash cuz he throws out the sliver is when journos first heard about it
loading . . .
White House staff monitored Trumpâs trash as he âthrew out silverware,â book claims
The president would also leave âan array of empty potato chip bags, Starbucks wrappers and ice cream cartonsâ in the trash or on the floor

I'd add to this that these supporters exist in an information environment where "simple solutions" from the right (blame immigrants!) are allowed, even required to be taken seriously, while simple solutions from the left (tax rich people more!) MUST be dismissed out of hand.

Remember how up until almost the end of Trump's first term we had the endless flow of "Today, he showed he was truly the President" every time he managed to get through an event without explicitly saying a slur? Now we get to do it in Australia.

Suzy Izzard's Hamlet: an engaging and technically impressive performance, but the only character that really stood out as a human being, and not just a loving recitation of the text, was Ophelia. (to be fair, she deserves the spotlight). Well worth seeing, though.

Guys, the âstop hiring humansâ ads are bait. Theyâre designed to be angrily shared on social media to get them in front of as many eyeballs as possible. You can play a part in helping this strategy be less effective, by ignoring it

As great as New York's win was, the way it ended in a quarter of an hour of ad breaks punctuated by occasional free-throws just further reminded me why teenage Charles stopped watching basketball.
