The facility is reportedly in lockdown. This is one way to control the spread of measles. But it comes with a cost. I reported on prisons during the peak of COVID. Grown adults struggled mentally and physically during the lockdowns. In this case, children will also have to endure them.

People in prison died at 3.4 times the rate of the free population. Measles is of course a different illness-- but many of the same factors will apply. A highly contagious sickness, in close quarters, with especially vulnerable populations.
