We as a society have to devote significant resources to providing spaces for people who struggle to function in capitalist society. There is absolutely no way around it. You could reduce the number of people by making capitalist society more socialist though.

What happens to these people who get forced into treatment is that they just get shuffled in and out just like they do shelters and housing because guess what? Inpatient mental health treatment is also underfunded. Any solution you come up with is gonna require resources.
