It's really important to note that ICE is absolutely in Texas right now. They have the cooperation of local cops and state troopers, as well as the cooperation of state and local governments. Texans are being terrorized by law enforcement every single day. And we are also resisting hard.

I suppose in the future what's happening now may become known as "The Battle of Minneapolis," but I think--hope--it's historic precisely because it's not that. Fascism wants a fight. Instead, Minneapolis's main response is mutual aid. Struggle, in a deeper sense of the term than fascism can imagine.

The US government doesn't understand that arresting 100 clergy in Minneapolis is in fact cementing the street cred and opposition of dozens of people who are institutionally affirmed as leaders in communities of people who gather regularly to be formed for a particular kind of life.
