Btw, I remember there being some anxieties around folks expressing their opinions during primaries. Besides being nowhere near a presidential primary at the moment, now is in fact the time for people to express certain lines they expect candidates not to cross. Protect trans folks.

If there's one thing that getting yelled at all day for saying that I will not vote for Gavin Newsom in a hypothetical 2028 election has made me more sure of... it's that I will not be voting for Gavin Newsom (or any other politician who pushes anti-trans nonsense) in 2028 or any other year.

This means that Democrats will have to raise a point of order on this part of the bill. This would force a vote on the amendment that would require 60 votes. Republicans have 53 Senate seats, so it means they would need to pick off 7 Democrats for this.

Hey, go do this, please. I have health insurance through the ACA, and if this rule went into effect, it would mean that while I'd still be paying a ridiculous amount in premiums, the plans I'd be able to get wouldn't actually cover my health needs.

As a sort of "big account" I asked them not to do this. I get the reasoning behind it because it can cause a lot of dogpiles and confusion, but it also causes a lot of wonderful stuff too like discovery and community. If they can't make a "hide from feed" toggle then it should be left alone.
