A lot of people don’t want to admit Charlie Kirk was racist because they would have to admit they are racist too, and that truth cuts deeper than they can handle. I will not mourn a bigot.

THIS! ⬇️ An executive order is essentially an open letter from the President to the executive branch. It has zero legal weight. Trump is essentially announcing that he intends to direct executive branch staff to illegally interfere with state administration of elections.

Fascism is here. We are not “getting closer” or “in danger of.” This matters because it frames our discussion: We aren’t trying to prevent it, we’re trying to defeat it. It’s not taking over our institutions, it’s taken them over. Otherwise, we’re always behind, fighting a past we’ve already lost.

There has been a coup in the US, Muslim Brotherhood and Nazi style: Trump and allies used the democratic system to get into power and are now taking over and destroying the system. Eventually, the reality will sink in enough that people will act, but it's hard for people to accept this.

Posting a comment I made yesterday, in reaction to a post by @repjasmine.bsky.social. The republicans did great with that #messaging because it goes straight to the heart of what people want. But for the republicans, it was mostly hypocrisy. However, it actually is what the #democrats believe in.

The proposed NASA and NSF cuts feel like when ISIS destroyed the monuments of Palmyra with sledgehammers. These things not only pay for themselves, they return several dollars for every $1 spent. Kill the science, kill the spin-offs, startups, patents, talent pool and global influence.

There is no behavior modification that will help Democratic leaders. They've already been branded as feckless weakling. What Democrats need are political brawlers with genuine backbone, who stand for something. They have a few, but the party suppresses them. And nothing will change until that does.
